Pay to Fly · No blind wires

Pay to Fly, but paid the right way.

Pay-to-fly (P2F) is a controversial path because most candidates wire $30K-$50K to a broker with zero contractual leverage. PilotsGate fixes this: Sky Aviation Group holds your training funds in escrow and releases them milestone-by-milestone, only after each step is verified.

What "pay to fly" really is, and why it gets a bad name

Pay to fly (P2F) is the shorthand for line-training programs where a candidate pays an airline operator to fly real revenue sectors as a First Officer alongside a Line Training Captain (LTC). It exists because low-hour ATPL holders without an airline contract cannot accumulate the 500+ jet hours needed to be hired at competitive carriers.

P2F gets a bad name because the market is full of operators who:

  • Take payment then fail to start training (lost AOC, insolvency, dispute with leasing companies)
  • Hide the actual flying entity behind brokers and shell companies
  • Run incomplete programs (50 sectors instead of 200) and refuse refunds
  • Operate without authority approval for flight training

The result: candidates lose six-figure sums, often raised from family or via bank loans, with no realistic recovery path because the contractual counterparty is offshore or insolvent.

How PilotsGate solves it

PilotsGate is the escrow-protected P2F platform of Sky Aviation Group. Three structural guarantees separate it from the broker-fraud market:

1. Authority-matched provider vetting

Every operator on the network is matched to your license authority before being offered. FAA license holders see only FAA Part 121/135 operators. EASA holders see only EASA AOC operators. SHGM holders see only SHGM-145/147-approved Turkish operators. Operators with recent enforcement actions, AOC suspensions, or pending insolvency are excluded.

2. Three-stage escrow release

Your money never leaves escrow as a single block. The Vakıfbank escrow account holds funds under Sky Yolcu ve Kargo Hava Taşımacılığı Tic. A.Ş. (Sky Aviation Group's TR entity) and releases them only when each step is verified:

  • Stage 1, Booking ($5K): released after match + KYC verification
  • Stage 2, Pre-contract ($25K): released after operator contract signature + ground school start
  • Stage 3, Training ($10K): released milestone-by-milestone during real line flying

3. Refundable application fee

A $499 refundable application fee covers KYC review and provider matching workload. If we match you within 60 days and you progress to Stage 1, the fee is fully credited. If we cannot match you within 60 days through no fault of yours, 80–95% is refunded (case-by-case admin decision based on operational work performed).

Aircraft and program types

Most P2F demand is on narrow-body airliners. PilotsGate supports:

  • Airbus A320 family, line training packages with European and MENA operators
  • Boeing 737NG / 737 MAX, line training with Boeing-fleet carriers
  • ATR 42 / 72, regional turboprop, the most cost-efficient entry path for fresh ATPL holders

Who is this for?

  • Fresh CPL/ATPL holders without a hiring carrier
  • License-converted pilots (FAA→EASA, EASA→FAA) needing first-officer experience on the new license
  • Type-rated pilots needing 100–500 sectors to clear airline minimums
  • Returning pilots after long career breaks who need recency

PilotsGate is not a substitute for ab-initio training (ATPL theory, CPL flight school), those are upstream. P2F is the bridge between holding the license and getting hired by a major operator.

How to start
